Ana Markova Vasileva, a loving wife to Dimitre Vasilev; a nurturing mother to Cvetelina Hill, Lily Vasileva, & Vasil Vasilev; and a caring grandmother to Ester Vasileva, died of metastatic breast cancer on June 4, 2016, surrounded by her family. Ana was a strong woman with an indomitable spirit. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and a homemaker. She loved to cook and bring the whole family together for a traditional Bulgarian meal. Ana valued education highly. She completed a B.S. in Agronomy in Bulgaria. After moving to the United States, she worked tirelessly to learn English and obtain a master's degree in Chemistry Education from Kennesaw State University. She was a phenomenal teacher at the Gwinnett School of Math, Science, & Technology until she decided to go back to school. She received her Master of Science in Chemistry Degree at Georgia State University while undergoing aggressive chemotherapy. Ana taught Chemistry at KSU for one semester. Ana's life was full of love, joy, compassion, hope, & faith. She is survived by her husband, children, and granddaughter, by her mother Liliyana Georgieva, her father Marko Georgiev, her two brothers Toni & Georgi Georgiev and their families. Memorial service consistent with Ana's wishes will be held at Saint Stephen Orthodox Church, 130 Holy Cross Path, Hiram, GA, 30141, on Wednesday, June 8, 2016, at 11:00 AM. The family requests that in lieu of flowers a contribution be made to the Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University, Office of Gift Records, Emory University, 1762 Clifton Rd.
