Mrs. Effie Mae Benson

Mrs. Effie Mae Davis Benson, age 80, of Dallas, GA, passed away on Monday, May 25, 2015, at Wellstar Paulding Hospital. Effie was born on October 11, 1934, in Marietta, GA, to loving parents, the late Mr. Tom Davis and Mrs. Bertha Crowe Davis. A homemaker, Effie loved her family and enjoyed embroidering and traveling in her spare time. Effie was of the Baptist faith and a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mr. Carl Benson, parents, Mr. & Mrs. Tom & Bertha Davis, one sister, Mary Bradley, and one infant brother, Frank Davis. Effie is survived by her daughter, Ms. Betty M. Benson, and her son, Mr. Phil (Jeanie) Benson both of Dallas; one granddaughter, Ms. Jessica Ray of Dallas; two sisters, Martha Edwards of Chattanooga, TN, and Mrs. Louise (Floyd) Stokes of Ball Ground, GA. Several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends also survive. The funeral service for Mrs. Effie Mae Davis Benson will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2015, at 11 AM in the Chapel of Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home with Rev. Todd Tibbitts and Rev. Eddie Davidson officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Moriah Cemetery and Chris Farmer, Lamar Tibbitts, Jeff Benson, Gerald Hamm, Bobby Jones, Terrell Johnson, and Darryl Farmer will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 27, 2015, from 4 until 9 PM. In lieu of flowers, they have requested that donations be made to Mt. Moriah Baptist Church to help with the construction of the fellowship hall. Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mrs. Effie Mae Davis Benson.
