Mr. James "Jimmy" Earwood

Mr. James Wiley “Jimmy” Earwood age 70 of Dallas, Ga. passed away peacefully with his family by his side on May 22, 2017 at Wellstar Paulding Hospital. Mr. Earwood was born on January 7, 1947 in Dallas, Ga. to the late Mr. & Mrs. James Henry (Mary Lucille Huff Maxwell) Earwood. Mr. Earwood grew up in Paulding County and graduated from Hiram High School class of 1966. He met the love of his life in school and in January 1967 he married Mrs. Linda Gayle McMichen. They recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in January 2017. Jimmy never thought he would have a son being all he had was nieces, but when they found out Gayle was to have a son it made their lives complete. Chad was the light of Jimmy’s life and eventually his best friend. Jimmy loved going to races with his best buddy Gene and being with his family and friends. He loved his brother “Mikey” and thought of him as his son. His nephew Jesse “little scooter” was very special to him but he loved all his nieces dearly. Jimmy had a nick name for every one he came to know. Family always came first to Jimmy he would do anything for Gayle, Chad or any of his family. He loved to talk and eat and years ago he loved to have a drink on occasion. Mr. Earwood retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad as a Conductor. He was a member of Bartlett Lodge #139 F & AM in Hiram, Ga. Mr. Earwood is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Mrs. Gayle Earwood, Son, Mr. Chad Earwood, Siblings, Mrs. Brenda Womack, Mr. & Mrs. Michael (Lajuana) Earwood, Mr. & Mrs. Anthony (Cindy) Thompson, Brother In Law Mr. Bobby Hollis and Sister In Law Mrs. Julianne Earwood Nephew and Nieces, Jesse Earwood, Amy Womack, Valerie Hall, Jerri Earwood, Heather Phitedes, Alex Stephens, Alicia Shaw, Lori Morgan, Courtney Thompson and Corey Thompson Several Great Nieces and Nephews and 2 Great Great Nieces. In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by, Sisters Catherine Lester and Shirley Hollis, Brother Calvin Earwood and Brother In Law Donnie Womack In Keeping with Mr. Earwood’s wishes he was cremated and a Memorial Service will be held on Thursday May 25, 2017 at 6:00 PM from the Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home with Rev. George Barnett and Rev. Don Rackley and prayer by Rev. Wayne Meadows The family will be receiving friends on Thursday May 25, 2017 from 4 – 6 PM.
