Johnnie Sue McAndrew passed due to illness August 30, 2018. She was a continuous blessing to her husband of 57 years and to her entire family. Born Johnnie Sue Craton, she grew up in Dallas and was a lifelong member of Mount Olivet Missionary Baptist Church. After graduating high school, she worked and lived in Atlanta where she met her husband. Sue moved to Ohio with him and started a family, raising three sons and moving to New Jersey and Pennsylvania before returning to the Mt. Olivet community. She worked for 11 years in the Junior High School cafeteria and then retired to travel and enjoy time with her family and friends. Sue was a devoted wife and mother with down home charm and endless patience. She was a no-nonsense kind of person who valued hard work and always put the needs of her family first. She was a great homemaker and baking was her strong suit. Her fried pies and cakes were the best. Sue is preceded by her parents Bertha Mae and Arthur Craton, her brothers Barron, Carl, and Ralph, and her sisters, Pauline Gore and Cora Lee Meeks. She is survived by her husband Mac and her sons and their spouses Scott (Phyllis), Mark, and Terry (Alesia). She loved and spoiled her grand babies Chris (Stephanie), Emily (Christian) Widmaier, Katie, John, Brooke, and Kasie and her great grand babies Elijah, Penelope, Annabelle, Malachi, Matthias, Joshua, Addison and Sean. She was dearly loved will be sorely missed. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, September 3, 2018 at 10 AM in the Chapel of Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home with Rev. Derrick Fowler officiating. Scott McAndrew, Mark McAndrew, Terry McAndrew, Chris McAndrew, Christian Widmaier and Sean Bornds will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow in the Dallas Memory Gardens in Dallas, GA. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Sunday, September 2, 2018 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in Johnnie Sue’s memory to the Mount Olivet Missionary Baptist Church, which is located at 3022 Mount Olivet Road in Dallas, GA. 30132.
