Mr. Mitchell Durward Ingram, age 68, of Dallas, GA, passed away on Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at his residence surrounded by his family. Mr. Ingram was born on February 16, 1953, in Santa Paula, California, to the late Mr. Bobby F. Ingram and Mrs. Violet Marlene Rhodehamel Ingram. Mr. Ingram married the love of his life, Mrs. Cheryl Dawn Smallwood on December 7, 1976, and they were married for 45 years to the day. He retired from the State of Georgia Corrections as a Peace Officer. Mr. Ingram was very family oriented, he loved spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He was a very Godly man, loved reading his bible and leading his family to follow the Lord. He loved reciting the Lord’s Prayer with his family. In his free time, he was an amazing chef and worked for some time at the Officer’s Club at the Dobbins Airforce Base. He loved to grill out or throw some meat on the smoker. He enjoyed listening to music and collecting old albums. He was an excellent marksman and was a true “Top Gun”. He enjoyed making people laugh and was a comedian. He will be missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing him. Mr. Ingram is survived by his wife; Mrs. Cheryl (Smallwood) Ingram, children; Heather (Andy) Porter, Matthew (Kelly Howell) Ingram, Tara M. Ingram, Isaac (Ana Isaac) Ingram and Elijah (Beth Wright) Ingram, grandchildren; Cloe Porter, Lila Porter, Makaila-K Davenport, Austin Ingram and Bexley Ingram, siblings, Rhonda M. Ingram and R. David Ingram. Many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends also survive. In addition to his parents, Mr. Ingram was also proceeded in death by his son, Bobby Shane Ingram and his brother, Van Kevin Ingram. In keeping with his wishes, Mr. Ingram has been cremated and a Celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2021, at 3:00 PM at the Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Powell and Rev. Chris Thompson officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 11, 2021, from 1:00 PM until the service hour at 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in Mitch's memory to the Promise Land Ministries Church of The Narrow Way, which is located at 573 Weeks Road, Ellijay, GA 30540.
