Mrs. Regina Slate McGarvey

Mrs. Regina Slate McGarvey, age 60, of Dallas, GA, passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2017, at DeKalb Emory Hospital. Regina was born on July 20, 1956 in Hogansville, GA, to parents, Mr. Billy Jerald Slate and Mrs. Julia Lucille Burson. Regina worked as a secretary for many years for the Cobb County Department of Transportation and was a member of the Lost Mountain Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time outside working in her garden, sewing and spending time with her grandchildren. Regina is survived by three sons, Joe Thurmond, Sidney McGarvey and William McGarvey all of Dallas; one sister, Becky Slate of Woodstock; one brother, Joe Slate of Hiram; six grandchildren, Bryson, McKenzie, Baylee, Merritt, Grace and Madison; four nieces and three nephews also survive. A Celebration of Life to honor Regina's memory will be held on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at 3 p.m. at the Lost Mountain Baptist Church with Pastor Womack officiating. Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mrs. Regina Slate McGarvey.
